Program Description
This certificate focuses on the structural and exterior aspects of construction. Topics include an introduction to business, construction and roof design, form and foundation systems, blueprint reading, cost estimation, and exterior finishes and trim. Students will engage in hands-on lessons for installing exterior doors and windows, finishing exteriors, and framing joists and roofs. Estimation skills are developed from site preparation to project wrap-up. Blueprint reading introduces students to residential drawing plans. Lab time is dedicated to applying learned concepts.
