Besides fostering an understanding of works essential to western culture, the course will examine how these works are still influential and relevant to contemporary thought and culture.

Examines the criteria for selecting appropriate literature for children. Explores literature through a variety of genres, age levels, values taught through literature, and literary and artistic qualities of various texts.

LIT 2068: Celtic Literature: GT-AH2

Exposes the student to Celtic literature. The course examines significant writings in Celtic literature from the ancients through to the twenty-first century. The course emphasizes the careful reading and understanding of the works of poetry, fiction, and drama as well as their cultural backgrounds.
